Meet Karli
The artist behind Fulfilled Beauty
I never imagined I would find myself in the beauty industry.
In fact, my plans once looked entirely different. But what began as a series of unexpected yeses to the Lord eventually became a career I couldn’t imagine my life without.
Today, I have the privilege of creating hair and makeup for women during some of life’s most meaningful moments—and reminding them of something I deeply believe:
You were already beautifully made. I’m simply here to accentuate it.
An Unexpected Beginning
I originally went to college to pursue kinesiology and personal training. During my first year, however, I felt the Lord asking me to surrender that plan.
My response was simple: “Okay, Lord. Then I won’t do that.”
Within that same week, I discovered dance, and it completely changed the trajectory of my life. I went on to dance semi-professionally while attending college, but after a year and a half, I knew the Lord was calling me into something different.
I remember praying, “God, I don’t want to dance for the world anymore. What do You want me to do?”
His answer led me somewhere I never expected: a discipleship school in Japan.
Those three months changed my relationship with God forever. It was there that He taught me that my value doesn’t come from the approval of others, but from Him—the One who created me. I learned that His love wasn’t something I could earn.
I simply belonged to Him.
When I returned home, I found myself asking another question:
“Okay God, what would You like me to do now?”
His answer?
Cosmetology school.
And my response was quite literally, “WHAT?!”
Beauty had never been part of my plan. But I trusted where He was leading me and enrolled at Paul Mitchell, which had recently introduced its makeup and cosmetology program.
I graduated in January 2019 and became licensed shortly after.
Seven years later, I can look back and see how intentionally He was writing a story I never could have planned for myself.
